You may not break ground until marking is complete or you are told marking is unnecessary — however long that takes. The operator has two working days to get it done; that is their deadline, not your countdown.The two working days crews quote for Arizona is the operator's marking deadline under subsection B, not a period you can wait out and then dig. Note also that ticket life runs from the date of MARKING, not from the date you called — so a slow locate does not eat your fifteen days, it postpones the start of them. Large projects have their own rule: notify as soon as possible but not less than fifteen business days or twenty-one calendar days before the proposed start. No tolerance width is shown; the statute sets none. Mainline conduit along state routes and county roads. Caliche throughout, decomposed granite and rock on the New Mexico end — dual-rod machines only. Prime pulls permits. Summer start times are 4am with a heat cutoff by 1pm. Restoration by others.
