Worth knowing in Alaska
The number that will actually catch a crew out: for a locate in a remote, unstaffed or inaccessible location, notice is at least TEN and not more than twenty working days. That is two weeks of lead time on exactly the work most likely to be scheduled tight, and it is the rule for a great deal of Alaska. No tolerance width is shown, for the same reason as Wyoming — Alaska's inch figures are marking accuracy, not a hand-dig zone: field marks must land within twenty-four horizontal inches of a facility buried ten feet or less, thirty inches if it is deeper. No ticket life is stated in the statute at all.
