Arkansas sets no tolerance width, and it does not need one: §14-271-110(a)(5) says you uncover a facility 'using a method approved by the operator' and that 'mechanized equipment shall not be used without the express approval of the operator'. That is stricter than any inch figure — within the approximate location of a marked line, the machine stays off unless the operator says otherwise. The same subsection cuts the other way too: you may start BEFORE the two days are up if the positive response system shows every operator has already responded. Renotify if the work runs past twenty working days or the marks stop being visible.
